11 Generative AI startups without ChatGPT

Photo stocks, avatar generation, dating profiles and hair transplantation

In this post, we will explore 11 generative AI startups without ChatGPT. We will take a closer look at Pinterest for generated images, hair transplantation, dating profiles, and more.

Before we get started, I would like to remind you, that you can reply to this email with your feedback. With that said, let’s get started.

Generated images databases

Lexica Art calls itself “The Stable Diffusion search engine”. All images in Lexica art are generated using Stable Diffusion. Every image contains the prompt it was generated from.

You can select an image you like and generate an image yourself based on the prompt of this image. Or you can change the prompt and generate a different object with the same style. This comes as a part of a paid subscription.

Lexica Art is not the only service with a database of generated images.

  • Playground is a database of prompts and corresponding generated images.

  • PromptDB allows you to search for generated images and use them in your projects. Images I’ve checked were free for commercial use, but remember to check the licence first for the image you select.

  • Kive is more like “Pinterest with generated images”. Use it to search/organise generated images, get ideas and inspiration.

  • OpenArt is also a database of 10M+ generated images with prompts made by DALLE 2 and Stable Diffusion.

AI Avatar and more

Well, there is a high probability that you have seen generated avatars in your social network feed in the last couple of months. Usually, these services work in the following way. You upload a set of your photos. AI in the cloud does some magic. And you receive a lot of generated avatars with yourself from an alternative universe.

All this magic became popular thanks to the app developers and DreamBooth method. It allows one to fine-tune an existing diffusion model (like Stable Diffusion) on a relatively small set of photos of a subject (a human, pet or something else). Then all you need is to specify a prompt and it will generate an image based on the prompt.

Such kind of technology leads to the following avatar-generation startups: AvatarAI, ProfilePictureAI, Picofme. Apart from them, there are some more exciting applications.

Hairgen — find out how you will look after a hair transplant.

Heropack — avatar generations for gamers. It allows one to create gaming avatars based on real photos.

DatingbyAI creates the full dating profile based on your photos and interests. It generates a number of beautiful avatars as long as a profile description.
